On Sunday 27th July, North Staffordshire Kickboxing headed to the Stoke Light Contact Kickboxing Interclub — and it turned into a brilliant day of skill, sportsmanship, and team spirit.
With fighters of all ages and experience levels taking part, it was a chance to put training into practice, try new approaches in the ring, and learn from every round. The venue was buzzing from the moment we arrived — gloves tightened, pads checked, and plenty of encouragement flying between team-mates before the first bell.
🌟 Highlights of the Day
- Youngest Fighter, Big Heart – Taking on three bouts in her very first event, she showed incredible confidence and energy from start to finish.
- Our Oldest Fighter Leading by Example – Adapting at the last minute to give younger, less experienced opponents a calm and controlled experience — not easy when you’ve prepared for a more competitive match, but handled with real composure.
- Dynamic Duo on the Rise – Both fighters showed clear improvements in their ring craft since their last outings, proving that steady work in training really does pay off.
🖤 More Than Just the Ring
Light contact kickboxing isn’t only about the moments inside the ropes — it’s about the people behind the fighters. From parents making sure everyone was fed, hydrated, and ready, to student helpers calming nerves and offering last-minute tips, the team effort was there from start to finish.
Whether you were in the crowd or cheering from home, your support means the world and plays a huge part in days like this.
There’s always more to learn, but every fighter left the ring with something to be proud of. Well done, Team NSK — you represented the gym brilliantly.
