North Staffordshire Kickboxing headed to Swansea for the ICO Welsh Open, the second leg of the 4 Nations Series. It was a smaller team for this one, with just two competitors making the journey, but it turned into a really strong day all round.
Between them, Ewan and Ash entered five categories — and came away with five gold medals.
Ewan took gold in both Low Kick and Martial Box, putting in solid performances across the day.
Ash added three more golds in Light Continuous, Inclusive Hardstyle Kata, and Inclusive Pad Work, showing good consistency across different disciplines.
It was one of those events where everything came together — the work that’s been going in during training showed, and both competitors performed well in their divisions.
It was also great to see the inclusive categories running as part of the main event again. That’s something the ICO continues to do well, making sure those divisions are properly included as part of the day rather than treated separately.
Even with a small team, it was a proud moment for the club and everyone involved. Results like this reflect not just the fighters on the day, but the wider team environment, the training, and the support behind the scenes.
The 4 Nations Series now moves on to Scotland, where North Staffordshire Kickboxing will look to carry this momentum forward.
