Ewan has been part of North Staffordshire Kickboxing since the club first began, helping shape both the team and the positive atmosphere the gym is known for today. His passion for martial arts was built through years of learning from coaches he greatly respected — experiences that continue to influence both his competitive career and his approach to coaching.
Now a black belt with over a decade of experience, Ewan has established himself as a highly experienced competitor across both tatami and ring disciplines. A current member of ICO Team England for the 2026 World Championships, he continues to represent the club at national and international level while competing across Ring Continuous, Martial Box, Kick Light, and Light Contact.
His achievements include becoming WMAC World Champion in Low Kick, earning a podium finish in Light Continuous at the WMAC World Championships, and securing multiple gold medals throughout the ICO 4 Nations Series. Across his competitive career, Ewan has built an extensive record of national and international podium finishes, reflecting years of dedication, consistency, and high-level performance.
As Head Coach, Ewan is committed to helping every student reach their full potential — whether their goals are competition, fitness, confidence, discipline, or personal development. He has extensive experience coaching both children and adults, including students with additional needs, and is a strong advocate for inclusive coaching and mental health awareness within martial arts.
Ewan is passionate about creating opportunities for all students to succeed and actively supports the development of more inclusive competition pathways within kickboxing. His calm, adaptable, and supportive coaching style allows every student to be coached as an individual, helping them develop confidence both inside and outside the gym.
Under his coaching, students have progressed from complete beginners to national and world-level competitors, including guiding an additional needs fighter to two World Championship titles alongside multiple other international podium finishes.
Vision: To continue developing North Staffordshire Kickboxing into a welcoming, inclusive, and high-level gym where every student is supported to achieve their goals, grow in confidence, and feel part of a strong team environment — regardless of background or ability.
