Head Coach
Ewan Eyre

Ewan has been part of North Staffordshire Kickboxing since the beginning. His dedication to the sport grew from the guidance of inspirational coaches he looked up to — and still credits for shaping both his fighting journey and his passion for coaching.

Now a black belt with over a decade of experience, Ewan has achieved a string of national results — including 1st place in Low Kick at the ICO Welsh Championships — and is currently preparing to compete at the WMAC World Championships in both Low Kick and Light Continuous.

As Head Coach, Ewan is passionate about helping every student grow — whether they’re training for competition, confidence, or personal development. He has extensive experience coaching children and adults with additional needs and is a strong advocate for mental health awareness and inclusive coaching in martial arts. He’s also actively working to promote inclusive competition categories for fighters with additional needs, helping to create fairer opportunities at all levels of the sport.

Ewan’s calm, supportive, and adaptable coaching style ensures every student is treated as an individual and supported in a way that works for them. He’s proudly coached students all the way from beginner level to the world stage — including guiding one additional needs fighter to multiple podium finishes and a place at two World Championships.

Favourite Technique: Spinning hook kick

Proudest Moment:

Seeing a student who lost confidence after a difficult fight find the courage to step back into the ring and complete a full three-round bout.

Vision:

To continue representing the gym at top-level competitions, support every person who wants to succeed in kickboxing, and build an inclusive, welcoming space where everyone feels they belong — whatever their journey.
